My friend lives in Italy, and we'd like to know the country code/s needed for him to send an sms to my mobile (I'm in Australia). I was thinking, that for eg, if my # was 0424789565, then he'd need to type in 0061424789565 (Italy's code and Australia's) but do you need to put the + in or not?? ....I really hope that someone can help!

You can either use the 00 prefix followed by the international country code or you can replace the 00 with a +
so either 006142... or +6142...

+ is better so that if you roamed to a country where the international access code isn't 00, it would still work - e.g. the USA is 011
