There can only be one opposite of each thing – a perfect opposite. A perfect opposition between any two things is unique one2one relation in existence. This relation is unique because no one thing can have two perfect opposite on either side.

A true opposite of anything is the opposite of anything without also being an opposite of something else - an exclusively mutual relation shared by only two symmetrically or characteristically opposite things.

Lets say, for example, that A is the opposite of B, and B is opposite of A – mutual relation, now suppose C is also an opposite of B. Since each thing is things only because it is distinctly identifiable from another meaning that anything can only have one unique identity in existence and therefore only one unique opposite in existence, i.e. B cannot be opposite to both A and C simultaneously, and if this is the case then C is A, or A is C – the same unique opposite of unique B.

We cannot with certainty that that a friend of our enemy too is our enemy. This will be nonsense – a vague generalisation. We do not normally decide until we know that this is the case, or this is most like thing to happen. There is of course likelihood that our enemy may use his friends to gang up against us, but this is not a law upon human nature. The possibility are always exist that the friend of your enemy becomes a friend, and thus proving helpful in ending the animosity between his or her old friend and a new friend.

I'd rather go by "like attracts like", but opposites can possibly attract too. But there has to be some common ground in intelligence, as manifested by similar thought processes, perhaps even interests, and life goals that compatible.

So given that you consider your attraction an "opposite", then I really have to ask what are some key/core commonalities? I am sure you are not all complete opposites. Most people think of one or two issues or factors they disagree on or do differently and then consider themselves "opposites". I dare compare them and see for myself (esp if the relationship works)! :)

Making my edit here below:
Attraction is used for sexual/human attraction? Then, what I said above applies. If you meant some other opposite, such as linguistic opposites, I can't see how that would make any sense that they attract. The opposite of opposite is really is yourself--reflects back at ya. Given that you are the reference point, the opposite of an opposite is yourself. ...or the originator of the mirror image. Or the original image.. or whatever.

In Mathematics and Physics, sometimes if you make mistake twice, you can get the correct answer at the end.
negative * negative = positive
opposite * opposite = same
