CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 (2.06GHz)
Motherboard: DFI MBD-975X INFINITY I975X M/B
Display card: Geforce 7600GT PCI-E 256MB DDR3
Hard disk: 2 x Seagate 320.0GB ST3320620AS SATA II/16MB HDD
RAM: Patriot PC-5300 DDR-2 667MHZ 2G Kit
DVD Writer: LG GSA-H10N 16X DVD+/-RW,DVD-ROM
Power Supply: ANTEC TP-II 550 550W 24Pin P.S. (2xPCI-E)

CORE 2 is better than pentium 4
and the core 2 only support ddr2 ram
so,i suggest u to buy the ddr2 667 ram
and this motherboard is quiet good in overclocking.
it is not too expensive too
i hope my answer can help u ^^

Go with the core 2 duo... I just built a system using one... It's faaaast. Considering your configuration, your Hard Drive will be the slowest part. Think about upgrading to a 10,000 RPM drive.

Most quality motherboards come with a replacement bezel for the back connector area... You should be able to pop the old one out, pop the replacement in, and be on your way.

Even if you don't want to shop on-line, use NewEgg to check customer reviews of products, just to make sure that you're getting quality parts.
