I'd recommend a Linksys as I've used them before and they're not a let down.
I wouldn't recommend a Belkin. The first one I bought, I found many security flaws in it and was able to crash the network easily (through 2 different methods, one intetionally, one unintentionally).
I have a newer Belkin router atm (was free).
If I had a bit of money, I'd get a Linksys WRT-54G

Dependant on what you want to do on the network (gaming, file transfer), you may want a router with more bandwidth. The speeds that I know of on routers are 11Mbps, 54, 108, 125 & then they start hitting 300/400+

This is a very subjective question, you are going to receive alot of different answers.

There are two primary brands that people seem to favor for ease of use and configuration. Those would be the Linksys and D-Link wireless routers.

There are many other routers available, but these two seem to constantly show up on the most preferred list.

I use Netgear. I like it, it does the job and was easy to set up. It didn't cost too much either. I got it from PC world.
