Cold turkey is the answer. Although when I did this I started by having the worst flu I have ever had! Was completly knocked out for about 3 days, sweating and halicinating! Very Bad. After about a week I recovered, had a cigarette and hated it! Have never had another one since! Seems being sick as a dog had a silver lining this time ;)

However for me, I just think of greedy executives, rubbing their hands together and counting their piles of growing cash, as they get rich off your addiction! I think associating something exceedingly negative with the act of smoking, might well make your mind start to subconsicously think it is a bad idea every time you get a mukka out!

The prescription is like this. Please go to a park nearby your place in the morning when the dew is fresh. Walk barefoot on the grass for 5 minutes. Afterwards sit on the grass facing east.
Do breathing exercise. If you can do meditation, this help you to get an amount of will-power to control your urge to smoke.

After finishing your morning obligations, take a glass of water and add half-a-teaspoon of honey, one half-cap lemon juiceand two drops of olive oil.. Take this in empty stomach Similarly do this one hour before your night meals.

The urge to give up will be a slow process. The above methods would help you towards this end.

Sandeep t, If you really want to quit you need to start exercising. It will get your heart rate up just like the nicotine does. When you are really scared your gonna smoke get into the bathtub and stay there untill the urge passes. After you make it through one crises without a smoke you will be fine. It;s like walking a tightrope .Once you see you can do it it get easier. Give yourself a couple of weeks to adjst and get that stuff out of your system.

When I quit (20 yrs) I got the worst tasting cigarettes I could find (Lucky Strikes) and chain smoke them until I got sick, then brushed my teeth and tongue and went to bed. I used gum, plastic tooth picks, and hard candy. The craving is worst when drinking alcohol or coffee and after a meal. Been 3 years Good luck

My father used to smoke. One day, he decided to quit. He did so. My mother became aware of this some days later when she noticed that he wasn't smoking anymore. The bottom line: You have a brain; you, not your addiction, is in charge. When you really want to quit smoking, you will do so. When next you run out of tobacco, and are thinking of getting more, just remember that you aren't doing that anymore.

well you have got to the first step and that is wanting to quit. I quit, and i tried slowing down and not smoking as many, didn't work. the only way is you have to want to and you have to just make up your mind and throw them away...and when you get that urge, what I did was, I popped a lifesaver in my mouth whenever I wanted a smoke and it worked...the first 6-7 weeks is the time it seems to take to beat the habit.....good luck
