I'm doing a paper on Stem cells. I know that people don't agree with killing unborn embryos but i don't know who really doesn't agree with it. Can anyone help me please!

I agree that stem cells hold the answers to many different diseases. I do not see anything wrong with using embryos.
Here is the problem, not all groups can agree to this due to religious reasons.
Some believe a child is a child at conception, others believe in the 2nd trimester. Its very complicated and unfortunate. I believe that the embryos that will not grow (there are many) should be used for research. That way maybe both groups will be ok.
I also believe that people should not put other people down for their beliefs. I understand from both sides.

As some one mentioned, the basic arguement is not necessarily about stem cell research, but about where those cells come from. It's based on various groups view of when life begins. I would venture that not just religous zealots are against it as Jessie gave reasonable arguement as to why she doesn't support it (refreshing for Answers).

I'm against funding embryonic stem cell research with taxpayer dollars primarily because it hasn't been shown that embryonic stem cells do anything (except cause gigantic tumors).

Using embryonic stem cells is NOT illegal, and I'm not sure anyone is pushing to make it illegal. The Michael J. Fox Missouri law flap is for the legalization of human cloning, NOT embryonic stem cell research.

Why do Democrats want to legalize human cloning???

(As hard as it is to imagine people completely misunderstanding a controversial issue.)

I don't agree with it because I don't agree with abortion. If aborted fetuses are being used for scientific means, it suggests that abortion is good because it is doing something good. I can't stand behind that.

Just for your use, my boyfriend disagrees with me on this. He is also anti-abortion (though he does not feel as strongly about it as I do) but he is of the opinion that if abortions are going to happen, they should go toward something useful.
