I've never understood how the correct spelling (forty) came about. If 4 is spelled four then I would think 40 would be fourty, but it's not. Doesn't make sense to me.

its spelt forty... always check ur spelling in Microsoft word or get urself a wrong spelling dictionary.
it asctually has a list of all the common ways to misspell a word (like fourty instead of forty) and gives you the right spelling... hope that helped

In the United States, it is spelled FORTY... It is possible but do not remember when I was there but in England... They might spell it fourty but not sure on that

Yes, uue have a bulleton board at uuork and each night they spell my name Debra, its really spelled Deborah. So I told them to spell my name Deb or Debbie and they still spell it Debra. There is only one couuorker an orderly uuho spells my name right. This is rather annioying especially after I asked them to call me Deb or Debbie.
