My husband owns a 2002 Dodge Caravan. It started out with the wipers not turning off for about 5 minutes after he turned them off. Then it went to they come on at will.

The local Dodge dealer said there was a short and replaced the wiper motor; it didn't fix it.

I went outside this morning, heard a funny noise and the wipers were running. Any ideas what could be wrong?

it could be the swicth or what is called the clockspring, this is what all the wires ih the steering column go through it is beneath the steering wheel and is intended to keep wires from breaking when the wheel is turned it is not an expensive problem the switch is about $65.00 and the clockspring is about $90.00 and should take a shop about an hour to diagnos and replace $65.00-$90.00

You could have a few things wrong. However i think it could be a bad switch. Although i've never had this problem, the first thing i would check is switch. And by switch i mean the lever with which you turn it on. My suggestion would be to take it to a reputable local garage rather than the dealership if you cant figure things out on your own, sometimes those other mechanics are a little more crafty than the dealership guys.

that's probly a topic interior the steerage colom maximum possibly a cord has be shrink or the coating around the cord is long gone take the colom aside and examine it out if that's in easy terms a cord this is shrink or coating is off get some electric powered tape and tape it up yet make beneficial that it remains linked the wires this is sturdy success:)

First start off checking the shorts that it can be on the motors. if it doesn't solve the problem you might have an electrical problem or a problem in the computer board itself. This can get costly at this point

it is going to be the switch. not the clockspring at mentioned above. its probable going to be called the multi-funtion switch and you should be able to change it yourself. just a tid-bit of info. i was recently working on a similar van that the horn would honk and wouldnt shut off unless the fuse was removed. in this situation i found the clockspring was bad. so if it ever happens to you, remember what i said.
