Or can you a. not care b. not think its the most important issue c. think it's wrong?

Obviously the Evangelical will lose his job if proven guilty, but that's a personal problem.

I have no idea who this guy is and couldn't care less. But why does it matter if he's gay, because he was against gay marriage? Can gays be against gay marriage? I think quite a few don't care one way or another.

In all seriousness, I know a lot of gay people that believe marriage is meant for man and woman, but believe they should at least have a civil union. they both contribute to each other except of course the reproductive aspect.

If you're gay, (like that Evangelical guy for example) do you have to be for gay marriage? NO
Or can you a. not care b. not think its the most important issue c. think it's wrong? "c"

Obviously the Evangelical will lose his job if proven guilty, but that's a personal problem. Guess so.

If you're gay, you can think A, B, or C.

But if you're gay, and advocating publicly for a constitutional amendment to *ban* gay marriage, then you can count on the gay community getting pissed off. And if you're in the closet, and *publicly* advocating choice C, then you are setting yourself up for a hard fall when you're outed.

As to Ted Haggert specifically, it remains to be seen what's up here. But hey: don't think people on the left are immune from getting publicly skwered in the press before the truth emerges! Happens all the time....to both sides!

There's a bigger question here, regarding that father of 5. He is being tried in the media even though he is denying allegations and his accuser won't provide the "evidence."

I think it's important to look at the Constitutional issues. The presumption of innocence. The way Christians are treated by the other party.

And I guess one could be gay and against gay marriage, why not?

None of the Gays I know care about guy marriage or civil unions. The issue they have is civil liberties and rights. Do we next take away their right to vote? To drive? To own property? Just as the government chips away at our very own rights: DUI levels .15 to .12 to .10 to .08 now they are working on .05, smoking bans to trans-fat bans to junk food bans, and domestic spying.
We all lose when we to allow our government to legislate their morality upon us.

Most homosexuals, unless they WANT to get married, could care less about it, so I guess letter A. As for the Evangelical priest, mere hypocrite. He just bashes homos because he is one, and possibly because he's in denial.

I guess the question boils down to whether you are offended by hypocrisy or not. For instance, would it trouble you if your parent or spouse was adamantly for or against something and expected you to adhere to his stated beliefs while at the same time he or they did the exact opposite in secret?

Hypocrisy is rampant in our Republican party. Whether you accept it as par for the course or are personally offended by it is up to you. My concern is that a nation that tolerates and turns a blind eye to hypocrisy is very much lessened and debased as a moral society. The fact that the hypocrisy has to do with "affected" moral values by our leaders makes the whole situation that much worse!

Can we find out if the allegation is true before we discuss this. Seems everyone has him convicted already. It is possible the accuser is lying. That is something that happens quite frequently

This man was ACCUSED by a prostitute. Last time I checked a person was INNOCENT until proven GUILTY!

That is the main reason why I despise dogma, and their leaders.
The hypocrisy among them is rampant. They are gay, are unfaithful to their spouses, and they are child molesters.

And use the bible to hide like Harry Potter uses his invisibility cloak.
