Are you kidding? Americans have love-affair with the Irish. Irish is synonymous with "fun" in this country. It's the Russians who have a reputation for not having a sense of humor. (untrue, of course.)

Irish culture does seem to include a comic outlook on life. Yes, I do think Irish people are particularly gifted when it comes to telling jokes and using word play. Could it be the reknown Irish "gift of gab" is genetic?

I am unaware of any Irish comics or comedy bits. But, I am sure there is plenty of humor on your side of the pond.

honestly, i personally prefer british humor the most, and have never really sen or heard any irish humor other than that of to make fun of ! sorry i can't give a better answer !
