I was born so long ago that I don't think he was even allowed on the same floor, you know back in the days when dads sat around in the waitng room waiting for the doctor to announce if it's a boy or girl

Yes, thank heaven. I was born in the middle of summer and it was a very dangerous birth. Although at the time it wasn't the norm for fathers to be with the mother for the birth, my father wanted to be there for moral support. My mom is a tiny woman (five feet zip) and I was a huge baby, and she was in a coma for 8 days afterwards. We are very lucky she pulled through, but she tells me it's because her hero was there every day to call her back!

No he wanted to be but rushed out to pick up other family members so they could be there, but they were too late! But as luck would have I will always be my Daddy's little gift because I was born on Fathers Day! But only happens on certain years ya know how that goes....I think next year or the year after!!!

No. He stood in the waiting room. My husband was there with the births of all ours. I wonder when it changed from being unacceptable for the father to be there to being commonplace. I was born in 1981 my first twins were born 2001.

yes he was,he said he was so excited, until my mum was in so much pain, and was screaming her lungs out,he then panicked,as he couldn't take my mum's pain away, and he fainted. He said that he was so embarrassed,as after the birth the nurses who had been in the delivery room, were having a bit of a giggle about it,as my dad is 6 foot 5 and built like an ox,and they couldn't believe that a man the size of him, fainted like that.

No, cuz back then it wasn't a custom yet for a dad to support his wife while she was in the delivery-room.

Never thought to ask. But my son was born at home last year in a heated portable tub the midwives brought over & I was in it, too. I drew him up to the surface to his Mommas' arms.
And he'll be in it with us in about 18 months for the birth of his baby sibling.

Nope. Back in those days (yeah, I'm old, deal with it, lol) it was just not done. Men paced the waiting room and handed out cigars after the blessed event.

No. I was born in the south of my country and was living in the east. My mom is from south. When he came to see me though he almost died cause alot of rain had fallen and there were lots of flooding all over. But he came just in time to give me one of my three names.
