I was riding my motorcycle and an elderly lady decided to make a u-turn in front of me, well two hits me hitting her bumper and me hitting the ground. The first thing she said was I did not see you. I was not hurt but it cost over $1000 to have the repairs done on my bike.

I think you are generalising here.....of course there ARE elderly people who just don't have the right coordination anymore to drive a car......but there are many elderly people who still do, and who are safe drivers.
What about these crazy, dangerous YOUNG drivers?? The ones who think they are immune for ever being an an accident, let alone causing one??
I wonder why the media pays more attention to elderly people who cause an accident, than to younger people!!
Maybe cuz it's easier to blame an accident on the age of an elderly person??

I live in Clearwater, Florida.
Not too far away is St. Petersburg, Florida.
Retirement capital of the nation!
It's an everyday thing for me.
I've said, if you want to commit suicide, rent a motorcycle and drive around St. Pete on a Sunday just as the Church's are letting out.
A lot of old people only drive on Sunday to go to Church.
I figure you life expectancy is about 15 minutes.

She probably was suffering from senile dementia. Thank goodness no one was hurt. Sometimes old folks get in the car and they can't recognize where they are so they drive around and around hoping to see something they recognize. That is probably why she was out so late at night.

that would have been a big problem!!
but I fear the young drivers more because they do stupid things daily not just now & then
& they speed & drink & drive & take drugs & drive
& argue with their girls & drive crazy etc etc etc
but it only takes one elderly driver driving badly to kill someone
I suppose
