Evidently you are WAY better at this game than I am! It takes me all my time to get through the levels the easier way without debating the plot and noticing whats in the background! RESPECT to you!
I hadn't thought the Shadow might be a clone but stands to reason - could be why he has 'memories' he can't explain - they are actually Sonic's memories not his that he's got through the cloning process.
Drop by my 360 page to give me some tips if you like!

Well... kind of...
The reason I say that is because Shadow debuted in the game Sonic Adventure 2, and from that game, he was revealed to have (apparently, and unbeknowst to us viewers) always been existant. Now, in my theory, clearly this was an attampt to introduce a new character into the stories, games, etc, but in the “story” mindset of things Shadow is a separate, indivual person who the crerators have as a look-alike of Sonic, but is not actually a clone of him. Nevertheless, as far as the basic traits between Shadow and Sonic, there are some obvious differences between them just as there are similarities. Take for example, the fact that their height and weight are virtually identical. However, a difference can be noted that Shadow's strength is greater than Sonic's (in Shadow the Hedgehog, Shadow can flip over a bus with one hand, as well as huge slabs of pavement). Next, due to his air shoes, Shadow can "skate" as fast as Sonic can run.
Lastly, he has different Chaos powers, and Sonic has only been seen to use Chaos Control once so far, and not only did it put large amounts of strain on his body, he also needed a chaos emerald (although, because it was a fake emerald, this might have been the reason). Similar arguments can also be made about Knuckles while we are on the subject. Knuckles was also created not necessarily as a "clone" of Sonic, but in his likeness with his own supposed uniqueness over Sonic - hence his ability to glide and scale walls. So to comment on your idea that Sonic could have gone back in time and that resulted in the creation of Shadow, I would say that would certainly add more clarity to Shadows past! I think that would be an interesting plot twist – so sure – why not! <:o)

Shadow is not related to Sonic in ANY way.
He was created using Black Doom's DNA, not Sonic's. Just because they're both hedgehogs, doesn't mean they're related.

no not related nuh uh the bi bad guy (I THINK HES CALLED BLACK DOOM CANT REMEMBER) gives his DNA to dr eggman (be4 dr eggman in series) and forces him to create another shadow because shadow was killed (SHADOW AND BLACK DOOM WERE BROTHERS) then the earth dude sees him so shadow is in no relation to sonic and is in fact an alien

dude you know that the thing that made all the sonic games suck was the fact they included a story and humans and crap and lost sight of what made it great in the first place..... running really damn fast. and although many people hate it its sad to see someone actually interested in it..........
