No - it's been debunked. Most of the new viruses are coming out of China and the former Soviet Bloc. Some are designed to open up corporate networks so competitors (particularly in China) can get a leg-up on the competition. Consumers are just collateral damage.
Some are from identity thieves in Africa, Slavic Nations and, of course, the good-old USA.
McAfee and Norton don't need to waste any of their money making viruses. They have enough malcontents out there to keep them in business.

Of course it is not true. Do pharmaceuthical companies develop new diseases in order to make us buy their medicines?
In fact, the anti-virus companies have very strong professional code of ethics. Most of them would refuse to hire somebody for whom it is known that he has created a virus in the past - even if he no longer does that and even if he has abilities that the company needs.
Besides, there are zillions of jerks all over the world, producing new viruses for free. Why would the anti-virus companies risk their good name? They are already overloaded with work as it is.

Yes some of them does..me as a victim a saw a lot of program running on my computer which I am not familiar with and as if threatening me saying that they detected virus activities in my computer which can't trace, as I click them I am directed to a website introducing their product and giving free downloads. As you use the downloaded file it will detect many virus and enticing you to buy their products............So don't just trust any website you enter

Who really knows. If you have no proof, you would just sound like a conspiracy nut theorist. But then again, we are in the Matrix :). You either take the red pill or the blue pill? Which one will it be, hmmm?

it might be so. Fact, however, remains that they do not have any obligation that their product are virus free unless u r their customer. Thus if they incorporate a virus, which becomes active when pirated copy is used, is it unfair.
