Just downloaded CCleaner. It's supposed to delete temporary files. Does that mean my Spybot will be deleted?

I've used ccleaner for over a year with no problems. If you're using Windows XP, set a restore point before using "cleaner" and back up your registry before using "issues", just in case. (I've never had to use the restore point or backup registry because ccleaner really does work that well.)

plrr

no. For further details look at the manual/help of the program. There you can find what it deletes. generally the garbage will be here.

windows 9x:
windows\temp
windows\temporary internet files
windows XP/NT
documents and settings\\local settings\temp
documents and settings\\local settings\temporary internet files
---
in registry
search for MRUList which contains recent used programs/searched words/visited links
don't edit/delete registry contents until you understand what are you doing and it doesn't harm you.

however you can use the software. It does n't hurt you. I think it supports even backup of the data that is being deleted

CCleaner is great! I have it at home and work and have accepted ALL of the recommendations for deletion. It has NEVER hurt me.

When you're deleting, click on each checkbox - one at a time. It'll give you peace of mind. Although, I routinely accept the defaults and haven't had ANY system issues.

it's safe. Spybot is safe too.
