I do a lot of country sports like Pheasant shooting and Fishing. Are these blood sports benefiting me or disadvantaging me on the dating front. Just want to know if I should or shouldnt mention them to potential dates or not.
My last g/f was a vegetarian and it didnt work out, she tells me that she didnt have a problem with me shooting. But I find that really hard to believe.
What are peoples thoughts ?

Shooting is a turn off for many people. Fishing is not as bad, but not many women are interested in talking about fishing. Find yourself a country girl who likes these things or develop new interests.
Women are interested in a guy who has a solid career like a doctor, lawyer, accountant. Even with some dorky hobbies, you will be in demand if you make big bucks. Don't get hung up on trivia.

In this day and age with Greenpeace and Save the Seals etc., alot of people find hunting etc. dispicable.

But it's what YOU enjoy that is important, so be yourself.
Why don't you look for girls in your circles? Surely there are female hunters out there? I know of a few girls in SA that LOVE going to the Game Lodges here to do some shooting, and are very proud of what they bring home. Different boats for different fokes I guess. And fishing is fun! You are obviously not looking in the right places.

I'd find it off-putting (especially the shooting), but then again, that wouldn't change even at a latter stage, so it would always bother me.
That's why I say you should be honest about it, becaue if someone's got issues with it, that won't change, and avoiding telling would just postpone the problem, not solve it.

If you want to keep doing these sports (if that's what one wishes to call them) you probably want someone who doesn't mind, and if that's the case, telling her about it early won't make a difference.

they are rather unusual hobbies for a young person. I wouldn't mention them on a first date unless you are asked and you feel comfortable about saying it. They are nothing to be ashamed of though and you should never lie on a date asshe will know from the start. Someone who lies about themselves cant be trusted in a relatyionship. I think you need to be honest as you will want to continue these hobbies. Don't get caught in a trap where you are hiding your true self from the girl you love. No matter what happens, you need to go on being yourself. Good luck.

I would not talk about it until you are past your 6th date with a woman. Just have fun and talk about that later on unless she brings it up. Then tell her your feelings about it and ask her her feelings about it. If she doesn't like it then you may as well move on if that is an important thing in your life. For she will NAG you about it in the future. Good Luck. Also I don't think anyone should change for anyone unless their behavior is not normal. Be yourself.

When I met my hubby he mentioned his love for fishing, I thought this would be boring but after going with him to spend some quality time together while he partakes in his fave pastime I am now (pardon the pun!) hooked, and enjoy fishiong myself, have been fly and sea fishing and will happily go on my own without hubby now!

At some point you will find someone that likes you for who you are, until that point you may find some women have their own wants too and you may not be it. Like a massive maze with you wandering and bumping into people along the way, at the end you will find what you are looking for as will they.

They sound unusual so could be really interesting to talk about, but the guns may scare a girl a bit- maybe don't tell her on the first date!

I don;t find them off putting but it would be a little hard for most girls to share your interests and that might strain things a little. You might as well mention them, it's going to come into conversation sooner or later and at least it's interesting.

No you shouldn't hide your love for these sports as you obviously want to find a girlfriend who may like these sports aswell, stick with letting people know, you never know you may find a true match.
