Living in Texas, we had the A/C on last week and we need the heater on this week. It was blowing cool last week in the A/C position, but now it won't blow heat and it's freakin cold in the house. The pilot light is lit and I even turned the heat up to see if it would come on. No luck. Any ideas? Thanks

This is NOT in a mobile home and the pilot light is lit.
Next question is how do I clean it?

need more info on the furnace...is it a 70%, 80%, or 90% efficiency, is it in a mobile home. A couple of guesses could be a partially blocked chimney, or someone turned off the blower switch when going from ac to heat, a bad thermostat, or dirty burner tubes that needs cleaning.

First, be sure the thermostat is in the Heat mode. If a high efficiency furnace with a PVC flue it will have an induction fan with a diaphragm switch which must be satisfied, proving that the flue is open, before gas valve will open and burners will ignite. If this is the case call a HVAC service person in your area. On some older furnaces, usually mobile homes, There's a resettable limit switch on the side of the blower housing. If this is the case and resetting it makes burner come on you should still have furnace serviced to find out what caused it to overheat. Seasonal servicing by a trained HVAC tech is always recommended. If your AC doesn't work properly you become uncomfortable. If your furnace doesn't work properly you could become DEAD!

You should probably have it checked by a professional. With gas heat, you could have a problem with the induced draft fan, the switch that indicates you have established the draft, the gas control valve, or the controller that manages all these things.
