Hi! I am Jim from Sri-Lanka. I have got a Nissan presea 1995 model R 10 car. I bought this car recently and I now find it is not good in petrol. Does more or less 6 Km /litreSpark plugs became totally black and I replaced them with original nissan. When I start the car in the morning and accelerate it I find some black smoke coming out from the silencer. Silencer opening is totally black with carbon deposits. When I disucussed the matter with atechnician, he suggested to clean the carburettor. Can any one competant on this suggest me, is that the solution for this problem?

Jim, sounds like the MAF sensor. Go to the parts store and pick one up. Not hard to replace. Good luck.

You did not indicate which engine you have. Sounds like you have a bad computer sensor. There are a few that could cause the problem.
It could be one of the following items:
1. A stuck choke on the Carb.(if you have a carb)
If fuel injected:
2. Coolant temp. sensor
3. O2 sensor
4. MAF sensor
If you have a check engine light have the code scanned.

Black smoke indicates un-burnt fuel. You probably have the wrong heat range of spark plugs in the car. You need to go to a much hotter range plug. Either that or your injector is improperly adjusted and could even be the wrong jets installed causing it to feed way too much fuel into the cylinder during firing. Good luck.

try a new air filter first. there is no doubt it is getting too much fuel. next would be a o2 sensor.
