A friend cannot be 'stolen' because one person cannot own another. There was nothing wrong with your longtime companion going over to another friend's house. The question is: Why would she feel it necessary to do it on the sly?
Is it possible that you were being too possessive and excluding other people from what could become a circle of close friends?
Try widening your horizons. Different people can bring different perspectives and talents to a friendship.
Also remember that true friendship leaves room for tactful and gentle honesty. Leave an opening for friends to let you know if something's bothering them, and small problems can be worked out before they become big ones and cause the end of relationships.

Ask yourself one thing. Would a best friend really desert you if they cared about you??? If you answer no then what are you worrying about? You are worthy of something more than these people. It can be hard to make friends but in the long run you will find someone better.
Email misslizzieadvice@yahoo.com.au for further information, she is a rather good advice columist (im on her account at the moment, she is a friend of mine) she could give better advice than I could

In my experience, depending on your age, sometimes that doesn't always last. I'd ride it out and hang out with them when you can and find new friends and interests too. You know sometimes friendships and relationships can become stale and boring because you see each other all the time. This might be a new thing that doesn't last.

Bless your heart, I am so sorry. Instead of stealing your best friend-your friend should have been a friend to you -neither of them are true friends!
