The dot itself looks exactly like the dots you get in your eyes when you look at a lightbulb when its turned on. the dot is in the lower left part of my field of vision and normally when looking i dont notice it but i have been noticing it more and more rescently due to stress. i have suffered from this dot for roughly 8 years and went to a specialist eye hospital and they found nothing wrong with my eyes infact they told me they were perfect! anouther strange thing is that i see the dot in exactly the same place in each eye when the other is closed. any thoughts would be appreciated

I have some little dots in my eye, and my eyes change shades of colour depending on my mood. Weird eh? But like you the eye doc said I have excellent eyesight, mind you I knew that when I read the bottom line without squinting and he looked at me with his mouth agap. I say don't fret it.

You have a floater. Almost everybody has them. I have a couple, sometimes I don't notice them, but if it's bright or I look at a blank background, like a white wall, I see them more. The Doctor says that they are normal and most people develop them at some point. And there is no cure.

A doctor told me once that some dots I saw in my eye were symptoms of a migraine. It seems there are several symptoms, a headache being just one. The headache does not necessarily have to be present. I remember something like this. It was a few years ago. Maybe you could research migraines.

Well if you've seen your doctor and he's ruled out diabetes, and nothing was found when you visited the eye hospital it's a mystery. If it was one eye I would say that it sounds a bit like the damage done by allowing a laser beam near eye?

Usually these are calcium deposits called floaters... They are not harmful but I would get my eyes checked again.

It's entirely possible that it could be a "floater".
