For great views across Paris : Eiffel tower or the Sacré Coeur (Montmartre)
For very French shopping : Galéries Lafayette on Boulevard Haussmann ,and try the food halls ("Galéries Gourmand"), high class French food.
For good Sunday morning markets : try Rue du Montorgueil, runs north from Les Halles (excellent atmosphere, nice little speciality food shops, have a coffee and croissant and watch the Parisians go by..).
For art : my favourite galerie is the Musée d'Orsée on the South Bank, beautiful building and very well presented impressionist art, or you might try the Dali galerie near the Sacré Coeur.
Other stuff : go to the Rex cinema on Boulevard Monmartre, they do a really interesting interactive visit behind the scenes (in French), or visit the Stade de France at Saint Denis (takes a while to get there though), a trip out to Versailles to see the chateau.
Whatever you do, enjoy! And take sme time just to sit on a terasse and watch the wold go by....

When i went we couldn't afford the Moulin Rouge, but it doesn't look that impressive a place from the outside anyway. Hang around Monmartre, the hilltop where Sacre Coeur is is great at evening, everyone hangs around there it's very chilled. You could also try Pere Lachaise cemetery if you're in an introspective mood, or the old opera house if you like a lot of glitz. Try the Eiffel Tower when it's raining - hardly anyone will be there and it's v. atmospheric. But don't worry about fitting everything in, you'll never be able to (unless you're going for a longer stay), just absorb the atmosphere.

go to Montnartre, which has a real charm to it and has the Sacre Coeur Basilica. There you can also visit the Cafe Les Deux Moulins from the film Amelie. The Louvre , I suppose has to be visited, but the musee d'orsay is much better. You can visit the opera garnier, gardens of luxembourg, champs elysee, rue de Bac, Notre Dame. The Madeleine Church is fabulous as are many others for their art work and sculptures. You have woods and lakes on the outskirts of Paris, but you would need to check on what train to get to them. You can get a train also to Eurodisney. Takes about 45 minutes. Paris is beautiful and it depends on what you like as to what you want to visit. It's full of gallerys, museums and churches, like most cities. Have a great time.

If your going with a partner I recommend the candle lit meal on a boat sailing along the river , its amazingly romantic, the food and wine are impressive and you get to see all the sites lit up. Time just flys by....
Magical!

Do all the touristy things but find out (on a map) where the "Latin Quarter" is. Plan your trips around this area and try to aim there for lunch on a couple of days. There are streets of cracking little restaurants there. BEAUTIFUL food.
