I am 15 and im wondering if I go to 7-11 or CVS and try to buy a lighter Im allowed to right. Theres no age thing or anything. Will they give me a hard time at the counter if I try to buy one?

I think you will find that lighters should not be sold to under 16 year olds.

I think it might depend on where you live, it wasnt like that here untill about 2 years ago and now they ID for matches, lighters, lighter fluid, and then the usual as well. So just go in and see, the worst that will happen is that they will ask you for ID, and you say sorry " i left it at home" and then you leave! It also just depends on where you plan to buy it.

Best bet to wait til school and go to the smokers section and ask around if anyone has an extra lighter to sell. Usually chain gas station/convenience stores Don't sell lighters to minors. Maybe the shady ones sometimes do, some don't.

yeah you can buy a lighter but buy a nice one like a collectors edition. i have a few that have autographs of drivers on the nascar circuit.i always buy thing that will make a profit for me when i decide to sell. those zippo ighters are the kind that have the names of nascar drivers and cost about 30 to 35 bucks and buy some light fluid to refill them with a light just isnt a light when it doesnt have a flame ya know

Any gas station or big box store or grocert store will sell lighter fluid

Tell them that it is a violation of your civil rights if they refuse to serve you. You have the same right as a 50 yr old when it comes to buying a lighter of matches, as they are not legally considered to be 'tobacco or related products'. Techniclly, they are more of an 'outdoor leisure' item. Who says you can't enjoy the outdoors???

No, they will not. Teenagers can use candles, make fireplace fires.
Ther is no law forbidding or even dis couraging it.
