There's recently been a campaign in the UK warning men that a woman isn't able to give consent to sex if she is intoxicated. However, if a woman has sex with a man who is drunk, isn't he unable to give consent, and thus a rape has been commited?

Depends on how the law is written, and it should be in the law!! There is no reason for anyone to automatically think that a man can't get raped, even if they have an erection while drunk! That is an autonomous response for the most part. Men usually have erections at night while asleep. It doesn't mean they want to be raped!

Hi Frosty,

OK lets clear this up for you. In law, it is correct that a man having sex with a drunk woman could be classed as rape. The woman must be capable of giving or refusing consent.

On the other hand a woman cannot rape a man. It is not, strictly speaking, possible. She is not "equipped" to do it. The only thing she could be charged with is indecent assault. This is assuming a complaint to the police was made.

Only men can rape because it concerns penetration with a reproductive organ. A man can be raped by a man though.

Hope this clears things up for you.

this is a very grey area .... i mean is it gonna be that a man has to get written consent b4 he gets his leg over??
tis a toughie ... there are just as many crazy women out there as there are men....
yes some women do cry rape ... but on the other had the amount of men convicted for an actually rape is ridiculously low...
women need to keep their legs shut and men keep their c*ck in their trousers .. its the only way !!

*edit* while drunk i hasten to add... rape is a very serious crime and should be taken serious ... am just saying its a very difficult thing to prove under these circumstances ....

Yes it is read on-:

Police are warning all men who frequent clubs, parties & local pubs to be alert and stay cautious when offered a drink from any woman. Many females use a date rape drug on the market called "Beer."

The drug is found in liquid form and is available anywhere. It comes in bottles, cans, or from taps and in large "kegs". Beer is used by female sexual predators at parties and bars to persuade their male victims to go home and sleep with them.

A woman needs only to get a guy to consume a few units of Beer and then simply ask him home for no strings attached sex.

Men are rendered helpless against this approach. After several beers, men will often succumb to the desires to sleep with horrific looking women whom they would never normally be attracted.

After drinking beer, men often awaken with only hazy memories of exactly what happened to them the night before, often with just a vague feeling that "something bad" occurred.

At other times these unfortunate men are swindled out of their life's savings, in a familiar scam known as "a relationship."

In extreme cases, the female may even be shrewd enough to entrap the unsuspecting male into a longer term form of servitude and punishment referred to as "marriage." Men are much more susceptible to this scam after beer is administered and sex is offered by the predatory females.

If you fall victim to this "Beer" scam and the women administering it, there are male support groups where you can discuss the details of your shocking encounter with similarly victimized men.

For the support group nearest you, just look up "Golf Courses" in the phone book.

This is the same crap that is going on in the U.S.
It doesn't make sense here either, if a man has sex with an intoxicated woman and she reports it, he is considered a sex offender and his life is ruined, and we have a lot of women in this country who make false claims.

A man would find it virtually impossible to be raped while comatose drunk, where as a women would`nt. The arguement does`nt stand up like the majority of men given the circumstances you have outlined.

Very possibly you are right. I mean, you ARE right, but whether the law says this or not, I don't know. The law should be balanced in this respect, so I suggest you contact your local MP and ask if s/he is going to follow up on this.
