In my experience YES - because staying in the relationship after the abuse sends a message that you have accepted that behaviour from that person. The next time they need to lash out, they increase the level of abuse to prove to themselves they hurt you and that they really are more powerful than you (which is what abuse is really about.) Please leave the relationship before it gets any worse. You deserve so much better!

Yes abusive personalities have specific personality traits that might not neccessarily go worse but nevertheless do not go away.
You need to seek either couple/family counselling or get out of that relationship.
Do not think this situation will change for the better because it wont

Leave the relationship immediately. Nothin good comes of it and in these cases the abusing is more of a habit.

YES...abuse gets worse and more frequent. Sometimes counseling helps...but most abusers won't get counseling or if they do, they won't stay with the program. If you're being abused...GET OUT IMMEDIATELY! There are programs and people to help you

i was in an abusive marriage for 7 years...YES it gets worse...i left finally once he was put in jail for putting me in a COMA...i was young and dumb...and it could have cost me my life...if you or someone you know is in an abusive relationship physically or otherwise get out now...you do NOT need THAT kind of love...and trust me there is a better love out there waiting for you, one with out pain and conditions

...from someone who knows and is now in a loving full filling relationship...one i dreamed of having someday!

Yes, as time goes on - they will get worse. They will see how far you let them go - treating you badly. Its time to stop them.
