if there is then is there a certain time limit the can keep us in for and if they keep us in are we allowed to have a break and eat? does any one know a website where i can find this info?

lol. no there are absoulutley no laws about teachers making students not eat in school because they kept them in at lunch time. but there's a first time for everything. maybe if you took a test or quiz that day after lunchtime you could complain you didnt do well b/c u were too hungry and its proven that brains arent active when theres not food to digest and go to court. It could go to the Supreme Court b/c its a good argument and you'd be a hero for all students across the U.S

It depends on where you are. Where I am, teachers only have to gice students time to eat, no more. I have never done this because I also need time to eat, and time to prepare for my next class, and time for my other school based responsibilities so it would have been more punishment for me than the student.

There are better ways to maintain behavioural standards in class than detention

they can give you lunch detention but they must allow you time to eat sometime during the day.
