if there is then is there a certain time limit the can keep us in for and if they keep us in are we allowed to have a break and eat? does any one know a website where i can find this info?

the school board makes up the rules which are different in each district.
BTW, if you're being harassed by your history teacher, report it to the police immediately. That's what i did, and I got 20 grand in lawsuit

a teacher can not keep a student from lunch..they have to let you eat. so if you were in trouble and you were told that you had to stay in at lunch, you get to eat and then do what the teacher tells you to do

maybe you should try to behave yourself in class to avoid this problem in the future...if students don't waste the teacher's time, the teacher won't waste their time!
