I absolutely think its possible to love someone else more than you love yourself. Im not a mother but I know having a child would make me care for that young one more than I could ever care about myself. The instinct to protect and love is so great when you are responsible for another human life.

Yes. You ask such a question, are you in doubt? Do you think you would not sacrifice yourself if your mother was in dangerous sitation? I guess if you faced such a situation you would really understand. I am not talking about lovers only (as from Titanic, bla-bla-bla), I am talking about parents love for their children and vs, pets, love of fans for idols, sacrifice for political reasons. Wars-take and took hundreds of millions of humane lives, people always sacrifice themselves for the sake of future. So, that now a guy like you asked whether such an action as sacrifice is common for humans.
If your life is meaningless and you are alone, you also can grant your life to those who need it as your body parts can be crucial to save a baby, for example. (yap, nobody would like to give lungs to anyone, right, but still, some do it).
Also imagine, you are alone with the new born baby and when you lose your wife in a car accident, you can grant your baby to the woman who lost her new born baby in the same accident. You as a man, can bear it, but that woman may not.
So, are you still in doubt?

Yes, I love my wife more than anything else in the world including myself.
She is utterly honest, sensitive and sincere with no malice for anyone. Sometimes, I have to remind her, “You have only one life to live. Life is a gift of God, don't throw it away.”
But, that's the way she is. That's why I love her the way I do.

Hello Angel Anne, what a lovely name. I can love people but I have a hate for myself. If that makes any sense.

Yeah, I'm sure a lot of parents love their kids more than themselves. Some folks hearts are just that big, or don't have much self-esteem - and they are always more concerned with others than themselves.
