[ A leader is one who will lead a team of members and these members will follow what the leader says ]
If you take by this way I think after Gandhiji there was no proper Indian leader.

A leader is a person who knows how to lead people to a progressive achievement. He should have the courage to go between people with out any security guards as Mahatma gandhi did. There is no such leader in India today

Most of the people replied your question MAHATMA GANDHI. Gandhi fought for freedom, Ok - But we fully forgot one important issue, Gandhi fought for our freedom only after 1920. Before Gandhi's freedom works, most of the people fought for our freedom like lala rajapathi rai, Bhagath sing like wise. and another One important aspect for our freedom, British government gave the freedom not only india in that period, They gave the freedom four or five nations that period. and then British government never gave the indian nation to Gandhi's hands. They gave the Indian nation to RAJAJI's (RAJA GOPLACHARI) Hand. Most of the Peoples didnot knew this truth or History forgot this truth. So All our freedom fighters are great leaders in INDIA. After our independence we can not predict Great Leaders for INDIA. Because after our Independence our nation changed his fundamental unity. All our national leaders only work for his/her parties / families wealth. (Example: Karunanithi, Lalluprasad, Sonia Gandhi, Jayalalitha) like wise.
