Why do the public insist on supporting award ceremonies,do we not buy their albums, videos, CD's, so as to put them top of the charts. We make famous, then give them an award, for basically doing their jobs! We make them multi-millionaires, on our meagre salaries, unempolyment benefit, pocket money.I don't see an awards ceremony for the people that matter in life, the quietest binman, the nicest police officer, the most efficent till operator, the nurse/doctor who saved the most lives, the quickest fireman, the happiest taxman, i mean the list is endless.Have we not got something wrong here?

I totally agree, Thomas M. Why should they receive awards and free food/drink at a ceremony and then goody bags worth thousands of pounds for doing a job which they are already paid £10 billion for doing?

I think that they should send each 'winner' a quick e-mail saying, 'Well done, you've had a hit record/you had a bit part in a film/you managed to walk along a catwalk without falling over. Keep up the good work. We were going to give you a little piece of cr-p that you could stick in your downstairs loo at a glitzy awaard ceremony but we decided the money would be better spent solving all third world debt, rebuilding all UK hospitals and schools and paying hardworking firemen/nurses/police officers a halfway decent salary'.

A much better idea.

Very, very good point. I myself has never been interested in anything to do with MTV coz its just another was of saying America which every time there is an award event to do with MTV I never watch any. Its usually kids in secondary school aged 18 and under, desperate 'famous' wannabes that crop up to these 'star studded events' hoping that they will be famous just by meeting other famous people. What I really don't get is that they say MTV Europe Music Awards so why the hell are Americans swamping the biggest awards can someone please tell where in Europe is America located?! Please don't be fooled I have nothing against America

You've hit the nail on the head without a doubt. Society has a kind of misplaced praise for a load of puppets. At the end of the day Actors do as they are told as do musicians. Then you've got the famous for being famous losers. All rubbish.

Be nice to see more TV air time spent on people who REALLY make a difference and not fifth-rate celebs who show up to a charity function in the hope of raising their OWN profile.

I agree with you totally!!!!

the only situation that should difficulty me the awards being based soley on the instructor's opinion. My youngsters would be going to a small inner maximum college next 3 hundred and sixty 5 days and that they do awards on the top of the 300 and sixty 5 days, yet there's a factor gadget and that's defined to persons interior the handbook. it relatively is not based on the instructor's opinion, yet according to issues like GPA,attendance, after college involvement, church attendance, and so forth. this is correct mandatory because of the fact they are going to be doing it in the time of faculty hours. in case you do no longer choose your toddler, shop them residing house that day. This does teaches them with reference to the genuine worldwide. It teaches them you need to artwork complicated, and there'll continually be somebody greater suitable than them in specific factors. it additionally teaches them to handle failure, which greater than a number of infants and adults won't be able to cope with now.

What I dislike even more about UK ceremonies is the way that any old DJ or presenter gets to go and freeload. They do competitions on Radio 1 for maybe 10 sets of tickets for the public when everybody who works there, whether it's relevent to their job or not, gets to go and schmooze on OUR license fee money.

Your prob right.
But it's fun to go to the MTV awards and plus it's Entertaining.
And if i have it right there are awards for Police officers and nurses, they only reason we don't hear about it is because they don't advertise it like MTV does.

I think that they are all really vain people who have to be given a award to let them know just how sad low life's they are. Yes we should have more awards for the un recognised people.

Yeah, you're right. But you know how it goes. A doctor or a shop assistant is not goodlooking enough to worth throwing a show for them.
