Google satellite works by combining both satellite photos and scanned aerial photos (taken by a plane flying overhead).
That bug picture has been discussed elsewhere on the internet and is most likely a real insect which got stuck on the lid when they were scanning in the photos.
So, yes it's real but it's not 50ft big :)

Looks like Thysanoptera. But it is not 100ft long more likely it got caught in the lens. Not sure if it was in a plane or a satellite, if the latter it is almost certainly dead when the photo was taken.

you can tell if a picture is fake by examining the picture and if you found the word fake,the picture is really a fake.
