I think he deserves some credit for his performance in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves opposite that godawful Kevin Costner. I was really hoping that just for once the Sheriff was going to win.

I can't wait for the next two Harry Potter films. If they stay true to the books, he's going to be so interesting to watch.

Is this where the fan club is meeting? Is it too late to join?! ^__^

I've been a fan of his since many many moons ago. His Sherrif of Nottingham was def the best part of Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. He was so out there, he made insane people seem perfectly normal.

"I had an awful childhood. I'll have to tell you about it sometime. It's a miracle I stayed sane." Which is funny as hell, cuz it's obvious he's 2 fries and a nugget short of a Happy Meal. My other favorite line of his is to the prostitutes. "You..nine o'clock. You nine thirty. Bring a friend." *not the exact quote but you get the drift

Alan has also managed to pull off drama *Sence and Sensibilty, Something the Lord Made, Die Hard, the HP series and Love Actually among others* and be funny as all hell *Galaxy Quest, Dogma, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy*

So can I join the harem now? :)

How can you not? My appreciation of him revolves around his delivery of humor. He's hysterical. A dry humor with an edge of whatever motivates his character. It's very subtle and subdued. If you want to watch him go for something that is close to over-the-top comedy for him then rent The January Man. Starring Kevin Kline and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio.

I do. I think he's a fantastic actor he can really be evil or be funny or be abit pervy in An Awfully Big Adventure which i have to say did put me off him. But as he is now Snape in Harry Potter i like him again.

I watch them just to see him. I love him too. It's funny -- he plays the mean teacher in Harry Potter, but I can't hate the character because I like the actor so much!
