I drive a 2 mth old front wheel drive 06 Civic, and I've already put like 5300km (3300 miles) on it, driving about 120km a day.

I agree with Marc S. Plus we share the same first name and last name initial. Anyway, the post above might be correct if you did nothing but drive in a straight line. For the simple fact that, every car turns at some point in its life, it will wear the edges on the front tires and therefore must be rotated to the back to evenly wear the tire.

BTW, I have rotated the tires on my wife's 03 Sport Trac every 6-8K and at 63K, the original tires still have 4-5/32nds. It will make a difference.

You don't have to do it often as most people do. If it is free, 7000 km,. If it costs money then about the 1/2 life. That would be when the fronts are 1/2 to 2/3 worn out. If you wait until they are 2/3 worn out, then they will wear much slower and the new fronts will wear much faster and so they will all wear out at about the same time. If you do it at 1/2 then the new fronts will wear out 1st and you will put the new tires on the front, the backs will wear out last.

Always do it if you see signs of unusual wear patterns on the front. The wear patterns will straighten out on the back

at least twice a year or every 12,000 km, this helps with maintaining the tread life.

I did not think people rotated their tires anymore.

Well-balanced tires should not need to be rotated.
