I've recently downloaded IE 7 and I've found that the Temporary Internet Files folders have gone. I've done a full search on my C: and there were some results, but they were next to completely empty. The downloaded images, sounds etc. must be downloaded somewhere on the hard drive. Question is, where is it?

It's still the same for me:
C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USERNAME\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

To make sure. Click Tools > Internet Options > General tab > Browsing Histore - settings > View Files

You can locate by using the search option. I can give you a link that deals with hard drive problems. Some RAM/hard drive problems can be easily fixed yourself by using easily available tools. I found the info at http://fixit.in useful
