I'm assuming you want to create a Zip file (Compressed Folder) faster than what is currently happening with files locally on your own hard drive (computer) not somewhere else.

Try an app called 7Zip It's a free open source app and supports many file compression formats including standard zip formats.

It touts faster speed than other utilities out there. I've used it it's really nice.

If this is a non-Windows system please be more specific.

Upgrade your internet connection to a T-1 connection. It costs dearly, but will transfer files instantaneously.

1) its all depends on your Internet speed,
2) depends on receiver Internet speed ( if you are sending by yahoo or hotmail ftp )

use .rar to zip any file and select best in compression method to make file size more small.

i suggest you to send it by yahoo chat, because hotmail is slower than the yahoo. ( i guess....i tried it may time)

please let me know if you have any further question.
