How about a theme rather than a product? Like a 70's store or a sci-fi store!
Books are always a good seller as are retro clothes.

--I can't answer this question off the top of my head but I know that if you look on the governments statistics website (in GB it's www.statistics.gov.uk). After a bit of searching around, you should find graphs and tables showing which markets are expanding at the moment, this should give you an idea of which product(s) to specialise in.

You're expertise here is your outlets. If you can forward your goods on to specialised outlets then go for it. If you're selling to the public then you're no different to loads of the already available 2nd hand shops. Research your niche then work on it vigorously. Once you have a good niche then don't give up It'll take a while to get established but then you'll get a reputation for what you're doing. It'll snowball. Good luck

i think it really depends where you are. If there are other places like that around. Find an idea like baby equipment then check the local directory and see if anyone else has got that idea maybe try a few different ideas all in one till you find the best selling gear.
