Use a product called 'Dr Feelgood' by Benefit, you use this balm after you have applied your liquid foundation. I have the same problem as you and this really is a great product. Its about £15 a tin but is gorgeous packaging and lasts for ages so is value for money. Try it! x

Oil-free and matte liquid foundations
A well-formulated oil-free or matte finish liquid foundation should have a smooth finish with no shine or dewy appearance. Ideally, this appearance should last for at least a few hours, but in the long run, this depends almost entirely on how oily your skin is. Most oil-free and matte liquid foundations provide sheer to medium coverage.
Pros: These foundations are the best choice for women who want balanced coverage with minimal to no shine, and who like a smooth, matte look. They last much longer on oily skin or over oily areas than most other foundation types.
Cons: All in all, there aren't many disadvantages to using this kind of foundation but some of them can make the skin look or feel dry.

Hi! I have combination skin, so i sympathise with your problem. I don't wear foundation but I did have a makeover done in the body shop where the sales assistant put a tiny bit on to show me how it would look!
Ok. The advice I was given was:
1. Make sure it's water based rather than oil based as other people suggested.
2. Make sure it's non-comedogenic. I.e. Doesn't block your pores.
3. Make sure that you apply it using a sponge/brush NOT your hands as your hands are greasy and this obviously contributes to the problem!
4. Only apply it where it's really needed.
As for brands, I find the Body shop's make up good but the other brands suggested on here are also supposed to be good, as are Avon's products.
Finally, DO NOT under any circumstances only wash your skin in soap and water or skip moisturiser as some misguided people on here have suggested. As we both probably know, these are the worst things that we can do for our skin, because they dry the skin out which then causes it to produce more oil in response and then of course, we're back to square one! I.e. Lousy skin! Also, DON'T exfoliate your skin more than 2-3 times a week and stick to a foam based (wash off) cleanser for this reason! Another thing that I find helpful is Ketsugo gel. It's only £10.95 from Superdrug and it really makes a difference to my skin because it balances the amount of oil produced by my sebaeceous glands. It takes 6 weeks to work properly but I noticed a big difference after one!
Hope these tips help!

Well i use Maybelline's pure makeup. works great fopr any skin type.
the pure foundation is 50% wtaerbased and oil free. wont clog pores. and it wont cause breakouts. has long lasting coverage. has vitE, alow, chamomile to soothe skin. its sooo skin friendly. i LOVE this product. my classmates and shcoolmates have commented me and siad i look blooming. :) its a gel/liquid foundation by the way.
after you apply the foundation, you can use the pure concealer to cover those scars or whatever. but the foundation can give good coverage already. but to be sure about the coverage, use the concealer also.
after concealing, touch up with the pure powder. that also includes aloe, chamomile, and vitE to soothe skin. just pat lightly onto your face. whenever you need to retouch, just use the powder. no need to apply foundation again and again. i love maybelline's puremakeup!!!!

Instead of foundation I use clinique tinted moisturiser. Works very well. Gives enough coverage and a nice smooth colour/tone (unless you need a great deal of coverage). Good for your skin (moisturising). I have found that with all clinique skin products, it really helps you out. Gives moisture where you need it (eg cheeks), but helps to matify grease, like on t-zone. Hope that helps
