elements are the common unit of atoms. each unique element is defined by the number of protons an atom has. if an atom has one proton, it is hydrogen, two is helium, and so on.

Elements are the basic building blocks. They are the purest thing. Each element is made up of different number of Protons(+ve particles) Neutrons(neutral particles). These Neutrons and Protons make the nucleas. Then we have something called Electrons(-ve particles) which revolve around the nucleas in paths according to their energies.
