Look at the wattage on the label, if its a single blaket it's probably about 100 watts, so if on for 8 hours = 800 watts or 0.8kw/h @ appx. 10p per unit so it will be a max of 8p per night, but it will cut on and off in the night so will be a bit less. If a double X 1.5 appx.

what.ever- get rid of your pp meter or recalculate, that should have cost you about 15p per night!!

Electric/warming blanket. Hmmm..... I wish mine would stay on all night. We purchased one last year and with electric regulations the blanket turns off after 2 hours. Heck my heating pad only stays on for 1 hour. So I am not have luck with heating "the whole night"!

I have a "Slumberland" double, which is brilliant ! It has 9 different settings and heats the whole bed up in 10 minutes, now i have a pre-payment coin meter (£1) and i did a test on this one night, switching off all my other appliances, even my fridge-freezer ! Now i left it on setting number 5 which was just right for me, not to hot ! and it worked out at an amazing 50 pence !!! for 8 hours.

It can actually save you a good bit if you also turn your heat down 2 degrees or so at night... then you don't get cold & you save on your gas/heating bill, which can be ENORMOUS bills in the winter. Just set your thermostat to turn back at bedtime & then to start back about 20 mins before time to get out of bed.. You'd be shocked at the amount you can save over the entire course of winter/cooler months.

Don't know. :) But they say that that's not good to do, for one it dries your skin something terrible. IF you want to be warm when you go to bed, get some rice, but it in a little cloth bag, maybe made from 2 wash cloths, make a little pillow case for it,( so it won't get dirty), and put it in the microwave for two minutes. I have two of these and they stay warm for hours. Sooooooooo nice! :) arum

Don't know how much it costs but it isn't a good idea, it can overheat you and make you dehydrated.
