I'm reluctant to say all Muslims are guilty. I wonder though about where their heart is. We hear talk about how moderate Muslims reject extremism, violence in the name of religion, etc. But I've never seen much from moderate Muslims when it comes to stopping extremism. How many times have you seen Muslims drag one of their own out of a mosque, by the hair of their head, for preaching hate? I have never seen it. How many times have you heard of moderate Muslims expressing outright hatred for those who would kill innocents? I have not heard it. I suspect, with absolutely no proof, that many moderate Muslims wish for their more radical brothers in Islam to win the war on terror.

I firstly would say that as the same gender tend to side with their own I think the same can be said for Muslims. I don't think its a fear of being shot that stops families/friends going to the police, as if they had a fear of dying they wouldn't be flying objects into buildings in the name of their cause.
I feel that of all religions in the world today, Islam seems to be such a life commitment unlike the western Christianity (I am not saying that there is not dedication involved with Christianity tho!) which is following ten commandments and going to mass, a LOT of people take it no further than that- not trying to insult anyone but it is pretty much the truth. Christians are not asked to die for their religion taking innocent people with them or pray 5 times a day etc. Islam seems to be such a dedication and is everything to its followers, so it isn't that they are all guilty but every follower when it comes down to it, if they are completely 100% dedicated then they will all follow in the end.

I don't know where you 2 live(the 2 other people answering this question), but here in the USA we include the Muslim community in our lives everyday. We don't have casts or class grouping like what is found in Europe and Britain which I find very degrading to all humans. After all, we all have red blooded, white boned human beings. The only differences are that we have are a skin of different colors and we speak different languages, and have different ideas about life, we still belong to the human race, no matter what!!! As far as all Muslims knowing all that goes on in their community isn't correct. The Muslim community is no different that any other community around the world. There are only a few that knows what goes down as far as the militants goes, and that is the same in all communities, only a few or only 1 knows who is committing a crime and yet very few turn in the criminals. When everybody is treated with equality and respect, then you will see less militant actions.

No, and this is a confusing question. There is difference between terrorists and militants. Terrorists are free from religion, colour or creed. They exists in all religions. Even Muslim countries are badly suffering from their heinous crimes.
Militants are freedom fighters. How can you report a person who is fighting for the freedom of his own country and is willing to embrace death for it? They are, in all societies, are called hero's.
True Muslims, and especially Islam, abhors terrorism. Militants who resists the invasions are always heros. And for this, you dont need to label them as Muslims.
Err, you are quite stupid as well. Don't you know that mostly Muslims rank Americans and English in the same league?

I know many Muslims - and they're from IRAN. and not a single one of them supports terrorism - or Iran's position on nuclear power. By your reasoning every British citizen is responsible for the corrupt governments in former British colonies in Africa - as we left our puppet reigimes behind and gave the new 'democratic' governments little or no support - and we didn't (or indeed do) preassure our governments enough to sort them out. The IRA was huge in northern ireland 20 years ago - everyone knew someone who was involved, many people even gave them money. Did THEY report the IRA to the police? No, they didn't. Cause the IRA would have hunted them down and killed them. Do Sicilians report the mafia to the police? Nope. People just want to live normal lives, and not run the risk of waking up dead cause they annoyed a don.

As far as Muslims you are talking about understand it, their people are not militants but revolutionaries. They think they are fighting for the sake of their religion and against those who are hell bent on runining their lives just because of their religion. They think that they are bring forced to pick up guns to protect themselves and give others a taste of their own food or something like that. Anyways, they take it as a fight for justice and wars and conditions in Afghanistan, Iraq etc. are often sighted as examples.
But there are Muslims who have other views and who can see the things from the viewpoint of 'outsiders' but they are the ones who are labeled as traitors themselves and often live outside that 'close-knit' community you are talking about. Plus, here is a hypothetical situation that I think might be the case:
A young teenage boy runs away from the family and is getting trained as a 'militant' or 'soldier' (depending on how one looks at it). Family is frantic and does not know where to look for him. Then, they come to know that he is somewhere getting trained and they keep quiet so that they do not get harassed by police when they do not have enough information. They know that even when they do not have all the details, the police and other officials may harass them and may be torture them to tell more. They don't even know the reasons why their boy left them to join others. Then, their son returns and tells them that he has seen real-life videos of Muslims being butchered, children being killed mercilessly and threats and epithets and slurs or whatever and he is all in for the fight of justice. They start looking up to him as a revolutionary, a person who is ready to risk his own life for the sake of and wellbeing of his own community and religion. And thus, they directly or indeirectly, actively or passively, try to support him.
We know that education level in Muslim community is either very low or very selective and they do not really learn to see the situation as a whole but only certain things that condition them to threatening and violence.
This is what I understand might be the situation and I can be wrong of course.

No!!!!!! and before any one asks I'm not one! I'm so sick of these stupid uneducated questions, and some of their equally prejudiced responses - you keep demonising them and then wonder why they hate America, this attitude is what makes them hate you, that and believing you have the right to police the world. It's like suggesting all Irish people support the IRA, this is all bull s hit oh and also saying every Jew was the same as the next jew and they were all bad, is what led to the Nazi genocide, and what your saying amounts to the same. On all of these bloody questions, I like to point out to the Americans that the US government wants people to be afraid of muslims because they want to keep invading countries on false pretences, this administration does anyway.
Come On Hillary Clinton!! And watch our world become a better place.
Ok so you aren't an American - but that makes your view even stranger in my opinion, plenty of Muslims contribute to our society, doctors, teachers, nurses Members Of Parliament, and as for the prisoners, well we all know what happened to them...... the Armed Forces are a close knit community too were all the soldiers such as your son guilty? I think not.............

What a stupid question.
Most criminals have a close-knit family, whether they're murderers, rapists, paedophiles, armed robbers or whatever So why aren't they in the Police station telling the police everything?
Most people that commit suicide have a close family. So why aren't they in the Psychologists telling them everything before the suicide?
Most soldiers fighting an illegal war in Iraq have a close-knit family. So why aren't they in the international courts saving 655,000 innocent Iraqi's & stopping their sons go to war?
It's not that simple.
If the US/UK ended the horrors they've unleashed in the Middle East, it would be a start.

From reading your answers it just shows how wrong you are and as a mother of one of our soldiers you should speak to your son about what our soldiers are enduring for being sent to a illegal war there are those whose son's have not come back.
I am a Muslim i do not support terrorism i am British i love my country and all Muslim's that i know feel the same way!
Maybe if you had some interaction with Muslims you would not be ignorant to this fact.

No, not all Muslims are guilty. Many are fearing for their own lives just like Christians and Jews in the radical Islamic society do. You are correct in that it is incumbent upon the moderate Muslim to confront the radicals, but they have to come to an understanding that not doing so is just as dangerous for them as is challenging deadly people. Standing by and letting the radicals hijack their reputation around the world brings the world into their homelands to confront the radicals and the world has much more difficulty in differentiating the radical and the moderate when they're pulling them out of their beds at night to confiscate weapons and interrogate suspects.

Also, the Muslim community is huge. Just the radical element which is about 15-25% is equivalent to the population of the U.S. I recognize that you are referring to the Muslims in the communities led by radical governments. Reading most of the answerers, they didn't seem to follow your quetion very closely.

I'm from the UK- and yes the Muslim community is a minority here but that does not mean i know everyone associated with terrorism. In fact i couldn't name a single person. It's a strange situation because if one muslim commits a crime we're all blamed for it. I think this angers those that may have information. Its about time we all started working together-instead of everyone waiting for us to point out the radicals that we can't even see.
