The American Ghost Society is currently accepting new members all across the country for its network of ghost hunters, ghost writers and ghost enthusiasts. The goals of the group are to seek out and authenticate evidence of ghosts, research ghost stories and sightings and conduct investigations into paranormal activity. They are seeking active researchers only, who are willing to participate in the society and to track down reports in his or her section of the country.

There are no set qualifications to become a ghost hunter. However, lack of experience doing it doesn't often work in your favor with some paranormal groups. Try to find a group in your area that has open memberships. These types of groups are headed by people who want to share their knowledge with you and teach you the ins and outs. As far as the integrity of the groups you have to judge for yourself. I wouldn't make a bone crushing effort to buy a bunch of tools. If you have a flashlight, access to a notepad and ink pen, then you're all set. If you want to shell out money, buy a camera. Basically you're done. If anything, hi-tech gizmos for ghost hunting is about 30% useful and 70% bragging rights. I think its hilarious to see some so-called pro ghost hunter get all teen aged girl giddy over a cold spot he found with an IR thermometer; then someone came along with a simple candle and discover it was cold air coming from an old coal stove shaft. So just take your time, look around. You will find some groups turning you down. Apparently you'd be a burden on their "payroll". If all else fails, take a friend on hunts with you and learn by trial and error.

The only way to hunt ghosts is if you have experienced synchronicity. Have you ever thought of something and then seen it happen? If not, then you are unable to "see" into that bizarre world where ghosts may exist.

I'm sure if you search online using keywords you can find a mentor. Just be sure that you are emotionally capable of all that it entails. They come upon some pretty disturbing stuff. ~Peace~

You just need to be a good liar and actor. To make people believe in things which donot exist is the greatest act. A good dose of convincing lie is very crucial.
