For years I'd have a late period... upto 3 mos on 2 occasions alone, and other times just a week or so late, so I've taken my share of pregnancy tests that were negative. As I didn't know what the symptoms really felt like I often thought I was nauseas etc. But then last year when I did become pregnant the first sign in hindsight was I was so extremely exhausted within the week of conception and then about the time I was 4-5wks I was getting nausea, unlike any nausea I'd ever had. I was also getting funny cramps etc. Anyhow when I took the test then I was 99% sure I was pregnant just because of all the symptoms. In the past when they were all negative I'd had what I thought could be symptoms, but now having had them for real I know it was my mind playing tricks on me. Not that this is the case with you. There are cases where the hormone levels hadn't reached levels high enough for the home tests to pick up on, so as many have already suggested try again in a few days or a week. Stress in addition to other factors can make you skip or delay a period.
Best wishes and I hope you are since you've been trying. Took us 15 months of no pressure trying, I'd pretty much given up by then.

Hi, I am one of those women that got a negative test result while pregnant 6 negative tests actually, my doctor told me this can happen if you are testing at the time your body would usually be having a period, the best way to tell is a blood test, which means a visit to your doctor. Good luck. Oh and just for the record positive results are not always true either

Try another test but make sure it's a recently bought one as if you have been trying for 7 months imagine you might have some lying about form before. I had a false positive from an old one. Also try one of the early detector ones as they are more sensitive to the hormone. Good luck but don't despair if you aren't, most of us get there in the end and it took us a very long time. Fingers crossed x

If you have a regular cycle, you can take a test as soon as your period is late (i.e. one day). If you don't have a regular cycle, it can be difficult to know when your period is due. In that case, you should take a test 3 weeks after having sex. That's roughly how long it takes for the hormone levels to show up on a test.
If your period has still not arrived a week after getting your first negative result, you should take another test.
All the best and congartulations if you are!

It's still a little too early. And pregnancy tests aren't really reliable. My friend tested positive and she freaked out, and she took another and it said that she was a negative. She ended up going to her doctor and she came out negative. I would go see a doctor after a few more weeks.

A negative test can be wrong but a positive one can't. It can sometimes take a little bit longer for the test to show positive. Give it a week and try again then. Good luck.

If I was you I would go see the doctor. The tests there are much more accurate. There is a possibility that it is too early to detect if you are pregnant. However I found out that I was pregnant 7 days after my missed period. Every woman is different. Go see a doctor.
Good Luck :)

It is possible you are pregnant. With my first pregnancy it didn't show until 6.5 weeks, but my second showed positive after 5 weeks. Try to keep your spirits high and try another test in a few days.
Good Luck

It is possible to get a wrong negative result. I know someone who was pregnant for several months. She knew she was pregnant but even the doctor's test kept showing up as negative. I think that's highly unusual though for it to go on that long. I would leave it another few days and then try again.
