"Man Of Constant Sorrow"--Oh Brother, Where Art Though?
"Layla"--Goodfellas
"Stuck In the Middle With You"--Reservoir Dogs
"Tiny Dancer" and "America"--Almost Famous
"Caring Is Creepy" and "New Slang"--Garden State
When the right song is placed in the right scene, both take on even greater significance. I will kick myself later for forgetting other songs, but those are the ones that immediately came to mind.

There are many!
A favourite of mine is the Gladiator theme by Enya. I loved 'Don't you (forget about me)' by simple minds that was used in the breakfast club. That was a song in it's own right though.
I think almost every successful movie from the 80s had a cracking song in it really.
