I'm glad i'm writing this anonmosly and i guess it's a question for the gynacologists out there but i just thought i'd throw the question out there wishing for some ease of mind. The scenario goes like this we use protection (comdoms ) and recently she has started taking the pill, we have never noticed any of this ''Skin'' on the condoms before after sex but yesterday we did? now were kind of worried it might be cervical cancer or worse. who knows perhaps it was just the latex comdom loosing the spermicide and lubricant which then started to cause friction and thus the ''skin''. Any input on this would be good. Thanks

I am not an expert, but from my personal experience some women who start taking the pill can, have changes in their body, there could also be a reaction to the pill ie vaginal thrush,my Best advice is to go to your GP or a family planning clinic, both are strictly confidential, even if there is nothing to worry about,it will put your minds at ease!!!!!

I can't picture what you are describing, but I think you can be quite confident that it isn't cervical cancer cells rubbing off on your condom!

She just started the pill, so she must have just had an exam and pap smear when she got that prescription, right? And they found no problems then?

It's obviously bothering you, so even though it's no doubt just some odd thing that means nothing, it's worth a call to her health care provider to see if it's something they'd like to see her about. Most likely they'll say don't worry about it, but keep an eye on things and if X, Y, or Z occurs then do come in.

Do you normally use Spermicidal Condoms? If this is new, or you are using a new brand, it could be the condoms. A large majority of women have a reaction to Spermicide, and not in a good way. It can cause irritation to the vaginal walls. She could have just had a bad reaction to them.
I would also check with a doctor. She could be having a reaction to the pills too.

Good question to ask a sex counselor. Trying to think of answers yourselves is just fantasy. There is nothing to suggest cervical cancer or worse (what would be worse?). Go to Planned Parenthood or a clinic for factual information. Bring one of the condoms (wrapped in plastic) to show the person you're asking.

The pill can cause abnormal menstruation when first started. What you are seeing is probably old blood. Happened to me and my wife when she changed pill prescriptions.

Probably not cancer. She could be ovulating and having a thick mucus discharge and it kind of dried up. when I ovulate it is thick and clear. I would watch it and if keeps happening encourage her to get checked. better to be safe than sorry.
