'The Art of Loving' by Eric Fromme is my favourite.
An all time classic and a must read for everyone. U have to read it to know what I mean to say. But there are several others.....
Books by Albert Ellis on 'Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy'
And 'Madness and Civilization' by Michelle Foucault.
This one is actually a critique of institutionalization of madness in our civilation. An important book indeed.
Victor Frankl's 'Man's Search for Meaning'
John Holt's 'Why Children Fail' and 'Escape from Childhood'.

Dibs in Search of Self by : Virgina M Axline
This is a story about a boy called Dibs. It is a case history of this boy from a rich family. It makes you wonder who this boy is now and if he is still alive. I bought 13 of these books for all my family to read. It's a must read. This book has been used in psychology classes for years.

My favorite psychology book is "How the Mind Works" by Steven Pinker. It does a great job of analyzing the brain's main functions and explaining how evolution helped it to get that way. Not only it it interesting, but it's also quite funny.

Not sure what you mean by this. And, I would recommend Dismantling Privilege by Mary Elizabeth Hobgood. If you want a clue as to what's happening on this planet, this is a good start. I believe all high school students shoud read and understand it before graduating.
