Almost no one on crack can ever really stop. I've been there with friends. In the end, I hadda just move on. Too many times he needed a ride to his "brothers house" and I end up at the wrong end of a 9mm 'cause he thought he'd fold a $5 in half and by $50 worth of dope. They end up in jail and what not and you can't live on the street just to support his habit. You either have to put up with it or forget about him.
Your only other option is to move him out in the country where there's no crack to be had. But he may just leave you and go back to where he can get it. Only 2% of ppl addicted to crack or meth can ever live a normal life after it.

They don't ever forget. It never changes and it doesn't go away. You can't help feeling sorry for him because you love him. Anyone else would tell you your crazy and to leave him because you deserve better but I can't do that because I'm in the same exact position. I've been told about how it has to be their choice to get sober and stay sober and usually you want it more than they do. I can't really give you advice I more wanted to let myself know that I'm not the only one. All I know is that the only thing they know and remember is that they need it and you and everyone and everything is secondary.I have resigned myself to that fact and I think that might make me unsaveable but If you haven't then I would suggest you do one of two things. First would be do nothing at all. Run under the attitude of if you don't care then I don't care. Second you could leave for a while. just go no warning, no planning, just leave. While both are risky there is not much else left.

I am actually a recovered crack addict of almost 7 years now but my ex-husband is still a really bad crack addict that has taken over his life completely and ruined him. You can recover if you have a reason to recover and as long as your whole life is not consumed by the drug. Good Luck!!

It is possible to recover from any addiction and NEVER do that drug again. But an addict always will have cravings. The addict just needs to fight those cravings, fight those temptations.
As for myself, I am an addict. My drug of choice is food. (yes, my addiction is real)
So, what I do is keep the temptations away from me, so I do not have it in my house. If I have ice cream in my house, I am going to eat the whole gallon. But, if I don't have it around me, then I don't do it.
I have cravings all the time, and to take away my cravings, I find something *healthy* to eat, or some activity to do to try to make myself forget about the cravings.
Your hubby needs to keep the crack away from him. Out of sight! Out of the house! He needs to stay away from his *friends* that offer him crack.
And of course he needs something to do to take away his cravings. Your hubby needs to get into an exercise program, and get lots of hobbies, and spend more time with you and the family..hopefully that will take away his cravings and give him something to do other than crack.
If your hubby cannot or will not stop the crack addiction then you might need to move on. You deserve a husband that you can love and trust..not a crack addict.
Good Luck and God Bless.

Yes... It's called NA. You have to keep in mind that you have no control over him and that he is a sick person, it has nothing to do with will power, it is a disease... Rehab might be a start or meetings but he has to get clean first before he can even know he has a problem, he has to see that himself... just try and suggest things when he's not useing and don't push the issue, it wont help. If you have to in the end of it leave him because it's too much to bare, do it. He right now can't see anything outside the high and wont untill he hits bottom... see if he'll try to go to a meeting and if he does, go with him and thats a start.

Coke is a powerful euphoric drug that produces a great feeling (though fleeting) of invincibility and energy. Continued consistant use will mess up your brain chemistry, producing progressively lower lows (depression) which propels the user to use more and more just to get to a more normal feeling (less depressed). This is a vicious cycle that is truly difficult to break, and should only be attempted with the help of a rehab hospital and 12 step meetings like N.A. or C.A.

My boyfriend's mom is/was an addict. She went Hazelden, one of the best treatment facilities in the world (She met Billy Joel and Angelina Jolie there) and she relapsed a few months later. The person has to want to change their life in order for it to work.

He needs narcotic anonymous. He cannot just quit on his own. He needs help. You are going to have to do the tough love thing and leave tell him it is either you or the drug. If there is kids involved that is even worse get them out of that situation.
