I am meeting a friend for her birthday. She is flying out here, so I can't get her anything which will be difficult to take back. She has loads of jewelry, and is very particular about clothes. I haven't got a clue what to get her.

I want to spend around £20 - £30. Any ideas

Get her a book to read on the way back, something that she will really enjoy. Treat her to lunch or offer to take her shopping for a new top. then at least she'll get something she wants!

whsmith gift vouchers - that way at the airport on the way home she can stock up on some reading material for the flight. If clothes not books are her thing then she can use it for Vogue, the new Trinny & Susannah book, a cd etc. It may sound "book-token boring" at first but you have given thought to her travelling situation and are trying to accomodate this (and she gets to choose her own stuff so she is not carrying anything that she wouldn't hvae bought herself) so I think that given the circumstances she would appreciate this.

or a bottle of champagne that you can guzzle together before she flies out. Verve Cliquot is always a good bet!

Or both!

A great idea for a personal and unique gift is a handmade painting made from a photo that you send.

Check out this site: www.paintyourlife.com

The prices are reasonable and the outcome is amazing.

Do they have a Wal-Mart where ever your friend is from?? Smile Get her a gift card! And it doesn't take up much space on the trip back!

just a idea, you could get a blank book (like a photo album) and fill it full of photos of the 2 of you and your friends and things that would make her smile like little jokes you have, or a sleepover that went wrong, something that would meen alot. have things that make you think of her in it, and stuff anyway hope that helps xx

how about an IOU or voucher for a shopping trip or pamper day when she gets back?

She doesnt have to worry about taking it with her and gets to look forward to it when she returns.
