Topic 1 - I used to work at a Private High School that required uniforms.
Pro - 1) Uniforms make everyone equal (or appear equal). You don't have the problem of the "rich" kids looking rich and well you know.
2) Fosters a feeling of belonging. Look at any sports team. They all have uniforms. Why? Because it shows everyone else that they are part of this team. So for schools, it can (depending on the uniform) identify you as "belonging" to this school.
3) Uniforms reduce the amount of time teenagers spend "worrying" about what to wear, so they can spend more time concentrating on their school work (Hey, these are not my reasons - these are the ones the school gave. Personally, I always had difficulty maintaining a straight face with that one).
4) Uniforms reduce the overall cost of clothing that parents have to spend. Uniforms only need to be replaced if they are outgrown or damaged. Unlike regular cloths which go in an out of fashion constantly, and therefore must be purchased on a regular basis so that the student can "be in style".
Con:
1) Uniforms provide an "institutional" like atmosphere that forces teenagers to conform to one standard. It starts the job of making them into "followers" and conformers.
2) Uniforms constitute a militaristic idea, and works to destroy individuality, and free-thinking.
3) Uniforms do not destroy peer hierarchy based on clothing. Instead it forces everyone into the same clothing - the style of which accentuates some body types and looks terrible on others. The individual cannot chose clothing that looks best on him/her. This can significantly reduce the self esteem of that person.
4) Uniforms do not reduce the overall cost of clothing for the parent, because the student is going to want "real" cloths to wear as soon as they get home from school. So the cost to the parent actually increases because they must buy both sets of cloths.
5) Uniforms do not make everyone equal. Uniforms or not, the rich kids will always be able to "accessorize" in order to distinguish their financial status from the others.
Topic 2
Not exactly sure what they mean by "foster new damage" - what kind of damage? But here is my take on it
Pro (means you are arguing that Electronic Devices do Foster New Damage)
1) When you use something like a computer or calculator, you don't learn the real thing (i.e. you don't need to know math in order to get a correct answer with a calculator, you don't need to know how to spell because the computer corrects it).
2) Computers get faster and faster, but humans can only work so fast. This is causing work environments that have unrealistic assumptions about how much productivity can be accomplished in a specific amount of time. Worker dissatisfaction and burn-out is at an all time high.
3) Over use of electronic devices creates adults with less social skills. When kids do all of their communicating via texting, paging, or email they don't learn the "art" of conversation with a real person. This also causes them problems later in working environments that require "team work" because they never learned how to relate to other people - especially those who can be difficult.
4) Over use of electronic devices has created a whole new set of medical problems. RMI - repetitive motion injuries such as Carpal Tunnel did not exist until the advent of the computer. Also more issues such as lower back problems due to sitting at a computer all day in a bad chair, or vitamin D deficiency caused by spending all hours indoors in artificial environments and not getting to see the sun. A new one is being called "irritable desk syndrome" - look it up, I'm not kidding
5) Electronic devices have become a "leash" which we cannot get away from work, or home. It used to be that once you left work, you stopped working. With electronics, you can be paged at any hour or the day or night, and many people go home and then work on the computer from home. With cell phones, you cannot 'get away' from anything.
Con (i.e. electronic devices do not foster new damage)
1) Use of electronic devices do not make kids "unsocialized". Children who are home schooled are less socialized that those who attend a traditional school of some sort. This doesn't matter what level of electronics are being used by which group.
2) Electronic devices increase access to learning opportunities that a student might otherwise be denied due to geographical location or work hours. Many degrees (including PhDs) are offered as online degrees from schools like Stanford and Harvard.
3) Electronic devices provide instant access to important information that used to be stored only in libraries. Information you can get in seconds with a computer, used to take hours or days in a library.
4) Electronic devices such as cell phones provide people a level of security that they did not have before. Now if your car breaks down on a deserted stretch of highway you pull out your cell phone and call AAA. Before you have to wait for the next stranger to stop and help you (and hope they were normal).

1. Uniforms prevent discrimination among children
For....
I can give you a very simple example which will be very helpful for your debate competition.
If there is no uniform and everyone wear there own clothes.Suppose you wore all you favorite clothes and none are left, you will eventually get jealous of your friend and ask your mother for more stuff. Maybe your parents cannot afford the things which your demanding for. You will then feel bad when you sit in your friends company, you know! like a feeling grow up between you and your friends which is called Jealousy.
The other reason which I consider important is, if you get lost you can be known through your uniform.
hope you got it as I don't have more time for the against one, you think about it. Good luck

1. For becuase wearing regular clothes is almost like competing with one another, even though it is a form of personal expression. It's a distractment, and there is time to wear regular clothes AFTER school. In school, you shouldn't worry about how you look, or what others are wearing.
2. For - Almost the same reason as above becuase one kid brings a toy to school, and another kid goes home and wants that same electronic device. But if the first kid sees that others are copying them, they feel thatcontant pressure to be on top and they keep buying new stuff... so in a sense, it causes damage because kids can get crazy over this. They can steal from one another (well, some might) and kids might fight over this. It causes craziness. If they bring them to school, it should totally be banned. It will likely be stolen or damaged.
Kids should have equality in schools.. it's SCHOOL for crying outloud. Not a competition of any sort.

AGAINST:
I am totally against this because from where i'm going to school, our school has the most outstanding uniform. wearing uniforms is an identity that you are a student but it does not prevent discrimination. Some schools have grudges against each other and so when they see you in your school uniform they start to discriminate you.
-it does create discrimination among children

I see that you want to become a master debater....Let's take the first topic. Here's an argument for it:
Ladies and gentlemen (and anyone else), if we students are forced to wear school uniforms, there will be no more discrimination between us students (because we'll all look equally stupid).
Here's an argument against it:
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, if we students are forced to wear school uniforms, this will not prevent discrimination among us children (because the fat ones among us will still be ridiculed for being fat, the stupid ones for being stupid, the ugly ones for being ugly, et cetera).

i replaced into going to declare faith because of the fact I get exhilaration from discussing it, yet particularly theres no longer a lot think approximately debating faith. i do no longer attempt to alter others minds approximately their religious ideals and don't choose them to purpose and alter mine. faith is exciting to communicate although. i think of its substantial to communicate politics because of the fact it may help human beings to artwork out themes that effect all persons in daily existence. I strongly have faith we ought to continually have as many freedoms as a threat. each and every individual has the spectacular to make their own judgements and as long as they at the instant are not harming every person else, the government shouldn't intervene. i think of its substantial for conservatives to open their eyes and quit attempting to dictate the way others stay so even although i do no longer love speaking approximately politics, its a lot greater advantageous to communicate that then faith.

Uniforms prevent disc. becasue all are dressed equally. No need to compete between a person who is wealthy and one who is not.
