Is there anyway to obtain transcripts from a murder trial in Norfolk, Virginia in 1938???

I doubt there are transcripts like in a modern-day trial, but you can call the Courthouse and ask. If they have a transcript or any information available about the trial, it should be a matter of public record and available to the public. The only exception to that would be if the Judge ordered the information sealed, in which case you would need a Court-order to get the information.

Unlikely that transcripts were kept that long ago.
