Buy your ink jet cartridges where it is cheaper.

It all depends on the brand of the printer, this is how you purchase new cartridges, not by the name of the company that supplied the printer.. You get new cartridges with the printer brand name and model number, if you can't find that then look for the serial number on the cartridge, and then contact a retailer and get new cartridges.

Walgreen's is running an ad this week where they will refill your old ink jet cartridges. This is the cheapest method, but the cartridge sensors can wear out and the valve can get stuck, so I wouldn't try to refill any cartridge twice.

Computer stores like Best Buy, Fry's and Comp USA have ink jet cartridges in stock, as do Office Supply stores like Staples or Office Depot. They may not have all the cartridges, and they don't often carry the older brands, but you can find most cartridges there.

You can do what you want to do. Dell will always recommend their product because they make money off of you and it's expensive.

But there are sites like eBay or yes, even Wal-mart that have generic cartridges that are quite less costly than Dells'.

Also, Officemax, HomeDepot, Office Depot, eBay, Yahoo, like that will have cartridges in bulk that are much cheaper and they will work.

I buy generic cartridges because they are much cheaper, or remanufactured ones and I've never had a problem with them in the years I've bought them. Furthermore, I buy them in bulk, like 'lots' of 4 or 10.

I buy mine from eBay or Yahoo Auctions.
