Who could possibly understand why people go to live in a country where only 4% of the natives have passports and 95% don't even know where their capital city is?
Probably 15% of Filipinos have passports and 99% know where Manila is. Who's smarter?
This country is stunningly beautiful outside the cities and the USA is still the greatest polluter on Earth.
The women in USA are, generally, fat with a lot of bad attitude. The women here are beautiful, slim and smiling.
America has left this country with nothing but a fast food fetish, not much good came from their occupation, even the English is actually a slang American, so spelling and grammar are appalling, and bear no resemblance to English.
It doesn't cost much to have a very good life here.
Upset an American and he'll probably shoot you, upset a Filipino and he'll have a bad mood for two weeks and then forgive you.
Does this answer the question?

I think this all depends on how you live. Most people can't make a qualified answer because they've never lived in both. A lot of flag waving US Americans will just say US, but actually have no f'ing clue.
I'm from the USA and the Philippines is the best place i've ever lived (been working here since 2004). Aside from the ARMM the Philippines are much safer than the USA. People are much friendlier in general and people have a lot more personal freedoms. I also like warm weather and beaches, so this influences my opinion.
A mojor drawback is poverty, but outside the major cities my impression is that it is better to be poor in a Philippine province than anywhere in USA. People seem to take care of each other, especially when it comes to necessities such as food, and they share with each other.
Also if you have money, the Philippines is great. You can afford to isloate yourself from almost all of the drawbacks.

I am both a Filipino and an American by birth. I had stayed in the USA x 6 months this year.
To go in the USA is every Filipinos dream, However, there is no nicer place than back home here in the Philippines.
Here in the Philippines we are used to riding the jeepneys, buses, LRT or MRT, which are both our railway transit. There are also taxis here. There are 7,100 islands in the Philippines. Boracay & Palawan are the famous ones among foreigners. I had met alot of foreigners, even Europeans prefer living here because they love the sun. Japanese, Taiwanese & Chinese have their business over here.
Cost of living is lower here than in the USA. Food, house rentals, education are cheaper here. There are Americans, Thailanders, Nigerians & alot more studying here because we have quality education too. There are alot of Filipinos who are college graduates. However, the problem is that they seek jobs abroad specifically the USA because of better job oppurtunities there.
Majority of the Filipinos go to the USA & have their vacation here. They work in the USA & retire here in the Philippines.
FAMILY SYSTEM is closer here in the Phil than in the US. Our elderly or our parents are being taken cared by the children.
Though the Philippines is not that perfect, for me , it is still better to live here.

the respond will continually be subjective and relies upon on circumstances that are very own, unique and distinctive for each individual. additionally there are maximum of areas of the Philippines and the rustic and existence would be completely distinctive for all of those distinctive places, so that's complicated to generalize. My take, i became born, grew up and spent a great number of my existence interior the Philippines. and that i now stay interior the U. S.. if as you're saying, depart the money equation out and that i could stay the proper comparable way of existence, it is impossible yet enable's in basic terms think that this would ensue. i'd stay interior the Philippines. I even have plenty greater acquaintances, and lots greater wealthy and influential acquaintances exceedingly. Me and my spouse nonetheless have relatives there. I talk the language and the tricks of the commerce. putting up and dealing a organization is way less complicated. and that i will continually bypass to the U. S. or Australia or someplace else interior the summertime or for the time of holidays. as properly, existence is in basic terms plenty greater elementary and not rushed there. and of path, i glance community so i will bypass everywhere i desire to bypass there. Plus i'd properly be and that i will act like the White guy in Santa Monica everywhere interior the Philippines, at an analogous time as i will appear as though and be dealt with like Cheech and Chong or worse interior the U. S.. LOL

living in the us is like living in an advance world when you compare it when you live in the philippines...the gadgets, the design of facilities and almost everything including diseases and disorders and all the disadvantages brought about by this advancements. But in the philippines, you may be living in a 1-step behind world (not too far behind also), all the disadvantages here are also a step behind including those serious illness, accidents and even calamities that may kill you (you do the logic). Now since were talking about "a BETTER PLACE TO LIVE" i will say that ther's a greater chance of survival in places like philippines(not just philippines but other middle class countries as well). It now depends primarily on how you live, what you live for, your lifestyle, etc..( you may live also a safer, healthier fruitful rewarding and meaningful life in the us). Now what you think??? http://philippine-destinations.blogspot.com/

well america is a rich country but i would prefer living in the philippines, even if we have thousands of problems, i would not live my country for the united states, usa,is continously being threatened by terrorist groups, also in the philippines, but life in the philippines is sweeter,is in a relaxed mode, you can sleep, eat well, have many friends,.live simply, set a trend, while in the united states you compete with all kinds of race, here in the philippines you can stand out,and this is a very challenging country ,a rising country i see a lot of potential in the philippines, america is going go down sooner or later,it even called in the times,a drop out nation
philippines is a very, relaxed, simple happy go lucky state of life, we love each other and i see the philippines in a better mode,i hate a super busy country like US, mahal ko ang Pilipinas meaning i love the philippines, ang aking bayan, my country, plus i love speaking our filipino language the tagalog language the sweetest language of all ang pinakamatamis na salita sa mundo
